A little about me

After growing up in the Midwest, I moved to Richmond, VA where
I currently live with my girlfriend Jane and our two cats, Chamomile and Mimosa. I love to spend my time working on art and design projects, as well as exploring the city, mountains, and the beach.

Work ethic

Executing design tasks with excellence and a high attention to detail is of the utmost importance to me. I believe that exceptional design is achieved by aiming for the most ideal solution, not the easiest one.

Growth aspirations

My passion for design is rooted in a long-standing interest in visual systems, user interfaces, and human-centered design. Having started my career in brand identity and marketing, I've since begun to build upon that foundation with digital interface work using design systems thinking.

E-Commerce Templates

In early 2022, I was tasked with refreshing product carousel infographics for the Schlage Encode product line. The project required branded templates that could be applied to both current and future-state Schlage electronic lock products.

Freshly promoted from 2D Artist to Graphic Designer, I took ownership and spearheaded the look and feel of these designs. As a proof of concept, I created the Value Proposition card design first, taking note of the previous approach and improving upon it functionally and aesthetically.

Once our team reached agreement on the refreshed approach, I then built out the rest of the cards needed. These graphics were then made live on the e-commerce product pages of major retailers, supporting the momentous launch of the Schlage Encode Plus.

Adapted for other use cases

With the success of these new infographic cards, our team expanded upon the design elements established in the infographics, applying them to other relevant marketing outputs.

A fellow designer has since begun building out Schlage mechanical lock infographic templates, carrying through the look and feel that I established for the electronics line.

As the design elements from the electronics templates became more commonplace at Schlage, we naturally began to apply this design treatment to promotional product banners as well.
